Come and witness a truly symbolic occasion for Stone as construction of the new community facility gets underway, starting with the demolition of the existing Pavilion at Stone Recreation Ground.
The old pavilion has seen many of Stone's residents pass through, either as children attending St Mary's preschool or as members of Stone Cricket Club. It has played a big part of many peoples lives and has served the community well.
However, the time has now come to provide residents with a new facility that will enable the community of Stone to interact, with the council, each other and in support of the variety of new and existing groups and associations that will utilise the building.
The council intends that the new facility will become a true hub of the community, where a variety of services and provisions can accessed and social occasions enjoyed.
Come along and be part of this momentous occasion that will kick-start a new era for Stone.
The action takes place at 1.30pm
Please be advised that due to health and safety requirements there will be restrictions on where you can stand. A designated viewing area will be implemented for spectators at the corner of the recreation ground, adjacent to the Community Hall.
