Chas set to Rabbit at fete

Stone Parish Council is set to provide a proper knees-up for local residents with its cockney-inspired Stone Fete on Sunday 3rd July.

Visitors will be treated to a packed line-up of main stage entertainment including cockney great Chas Hodges of the ultimate cockney band 'Chas and Dave' performing all the greatest hits with his band.

The Barrow Boys, featuring the real Pearly King of Camberwell, will also be on stage to create a sing-a-long atmosphere with renditions of old classics alongside The Somebody's and Beer Pressure performing hits from all decades.

Bluewater are once again main sponsor for the event and will be introducing the new events venue to visitors at their stand using a reduced-scale model of the facility.

The annual open-top fete bus will ferry passengers to and from the event, free of charge courtesy of Ward Homes, with buses running every 20 minutes.

Kids can ride the funfair all day for just £2 and stalls and attractions will be arranged in the style of an East End market.

The Facebook group 'I can't wait till the next Stone Fete' has full details of activities including video clips of acts, booking forms for stalls and dog show entry, and a full bus timetable.

Saturday 2nd July saw Chas Hodges interviewed by Matthew Davis from BBC Radio Kent regarding his appearance at Stone Fete 2011. Listen to the interview here...
