The weekend saw another spell of bad weather and inevitable flooding along London Road causing problems for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.

The parish council, along with other local members and organisations, has been campaigning for over a year to Kent Highways in a bid to secure a solution to this major problem.

Recent work has seen some improvements made adjacent to the Welsh Tavern Public House but areas by the electricity sub-station and outside of the recreation ground still suffer badly.

This weekend, many motorists chose to mount pavements rather than cross the huge puddle posing a real risk to safety. The pavements were almost completely submerged leaving many pedestrians stranded either side of the puddle, waiting for a gap in the cars to cross, rather than risk a soaking from the spray of cars or lorries.

In a bid to demonstrate the severity of this situation, we took the opportunity to film the events and this footage will now be shown to local and cabinet members at Kent County Council and Dartford Borough Council.

We will continue to lobby those responsible in a bid for this to be addressed.
