A Day to Remember
Stone Parish Council is organising a special Remembrance Service on Sunday 14 November.
Over 300 residents attended last year and this year’s service will include contributions from local ministers, the British Legion and local uniformed groups, the afternoon will give residents an opportunity to remember those that lost their lives fighting for this country.
Chairman of the Council, Cllr Thurza Richards said,
“The council feel that is important to pay respect to the people that lose their lives fighting for this country. This event allows us to just stop for a moment and consider the bravery and integrity of these soldiers and demonstrate that we truly appreciate their efforts.”
A parade will commence at 2.45 from the car park at the recreation ground on London Road, Stone, down to the War Memorial where the service and wreath-laying will take place at 3pm.
The service will be followed by refreshments at the Community hall on Hayes Road.
We look forward to seeing you there.
