STONE FETE SET TO SIZZLE
Stone Fete looks set to sizzle on Sunday 4th July with a ‘Club Tropicana’ carnival-inspired event.
In true fiesta style, local residents will be treated to a trip to the tropics to enjoy a host of activities including packed line-up of main stage entertainment; free funfair rides; limbo dancing; and, back by popular demand, full-size tropical beach.
The event, once again sponsored by Bluewater, Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination, will feature a host of music acts including local bands Beer Pressure, UP Monkey and Life of Brian; tropical sounds performed by Phase Five Steel Pan Band and We Be Jammin’; and topping the bill are the world’s number one tribute to Bob Marley and the Wailers ‘Legend Live’ and ‘Bad Boys’, arguably the greatest tribute to Wham.
Kids and adults alike can take advantage of free funfair rides or visit Bluewater’s ‘Makendoo’ craft tent to create carnival masks and props.
Bluewater General Manager, Andrew Parkinson commented on the event: “Bluewater is pleased to be sponsoring The Stone Parish Fete again this year as part of our 10th anniversary pledge and on-going commitment to supporting the local community. With lots of free activities and entertainment for everyone to enjoy, this year’s fete will be a fantastic event for all the family. We look forward to seeing you at the Bluewater tent!”
A number of local schools and groups are set to get into the carnival spirit ahead of the event by designing and creating masks to wear on the day with prizes for the best masks.
Organisers Stone Parish Council aim to mitigate parking problems on the day by operating free fete buses to transport local residents to the event. View the fete bus timetable here...
A Facebook group ‘I can’t wait until the next Stone Fete’ has been created to provide fans with full event details including links to sound clips and videos of entertainers booked to perform.
The event promises to be one of the local highlights of the year – Don’t miss it!
