Crime in Stone is generally low and is predominantly made up of minor anti-social acts.
Crime figures in Stone have been rising but, rather than due to increased crime, is seen positively as a result of more people reporting offences.
The Parish Council, along with Stone's Community Warden Christine Bates, local beat officer PC John Kilvington and PCSO's Stephen Keers and Dave Selway have jointly campaigned to make residents feel more at ease in reporting crime and less at fear of any recrimination as a result.
Residents are now much more empowered to report issues such as anti-social behaviour, vandalism and off-road bikes and there have been many improvements in these areas.
The new PACT initiative aims to involve local people in determining priority issues for the Police and other local agencies to address.
PACT meetings are held quarterly. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Please call the office or check the events page for further details.
The local team dealing with crime and community problems can be contacted to deal with problems large or small so please do not hesitate to contact one of them for help.
