Community Infrastructure Levy Funding

Dartford Community Infrastructure Levy: Duty to pass CIL to local councils CIL Regulations 2010 (amended) Regulations 59A to 59D

CIL regulations set out that this money may be spent on local priorities. Any unspent money must be returned to Dartford Borough council after five years.

Dartford’s Core Strategy identifies the Stone area for significant development and identifies new infrastructure to support this level of growth. The CIL regulations provide the ability for the parish council and district council to agree priority projects and for the local proportion to be used to support the funding of ‘larger’ infrastructure, as long as it supports development within the parish area.

The Council has recently agreed governance arrangements whereby infrastructure projects will be prioritised and agreed for CIL funding.
