CURRENT VACANCIES:

RESPONSIBLE FINANCE OFFICER/ASSISTANT CLERK

The council aims to ensure that it has a strong and effective strategic team, that its decision-making process is transparent and accountable and that council finances are well-managed and invested.

This role is responsible for providing strategic support to the Parish Clerk to ensure the smooth running of the Democratic, Corporate Governance and Financial Administration of the Council.

We will look to you to provide a high level of support to the council including:

  • acting as the Council’s designated Responsible Financial Officer, under section 151 of the Local Government Act 1972
  • effectively managing and monitoring the Council’s finances and advising the Council on a fiscal strategy to meet finance and policy objectives
  • deputising in the absence of the Parish Clerk in matters relating to the overall administration of the Council’s affairs

You will bring:

  • a recognised finance or accounting qualification (eg. AAT or equivalent) or evidence of qualification by experience
  • experience of managing and administering accounting functions on a day to day basis, ideally using Quickbooks
  • previous line management experience

Hours: 37 per week (excluding breaks)

Salary: Spinal points 35-40 £30,785-£35,444 plus local allowance of £840

COUNCIL ADMINISTRATOR

The council aims to provide a high standard of customer service to residents, facility users, stakeholders from other authorities or agencies, and provide effective support to its management team.

This role is designed to provide exemplary front of house customer services, including full responsibility for managing facility bookings. The post holder will also act as PA to the Parish Clerk, as well as provide administration support for council services.

We will look to you to provide a high level of support to the council including:

  • managing all callers and visitors to Stone Pavilion and the Council Office including taking bookings and facilitating arrangements for events
  • providing administrative support for council and committee meetings including production of minutes and agendas
  • acting as PA to the Parish Clerk

You will bring:

  • customer service experience gained in a front of house role
  • exceptional oral and written communication skills, including extensive experience of producing minutes and agendas
  • a strong ability to manage pressure and prioritise conflicting demands and workloads
