Stone is a medium sized parish almost 5,000 households and around 10,000 residents.
The parish of Stone is very conveniently situated with direct access to the A2, the M25 and is only a 10 min journey away from Ebbsfleet International station providing high speed rail links to London St Pancras, Paris and Lille.
The parish has three primary schools, two churches, a variety of takeaway restaurants, public houses and a number of open spaces, parks and playgrounds.
Stone has a number of local facilities such as Dartford Judo Club and Bluewater Shopping Village, which is effectively the high street of the parish.
Transport links in Stone are very good with buses, including Fastrack, delivering residents to the Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford Town centre, Bluewater and Gravesend.
Stone Crossing Train station serves all three SouthEastern routes into Cannon Street and Charing Cross in around 45 minutes.
The parish is part of the major regeneration taking place within the Thames Gateway and has seen developments such as Worcester Park and Waterstone Park almost double the size of the parish in recent decades. Stone House Hospital, previously the City of London Asylum, has seen recent redevelopment alongside additional new build properties increase the number of households further and more development is earmarked, with the largest site at Stone Pit II poised to create almost 1,000 new dwellings. Smaller scale developments are also proposed for the old Fantaseas site at Bow Arrow Lane and at St Clements Way.
